Yesterday, Jamaican Prime Minister, Andrew Holness, informed the country that the date of the general elections will be Thursday, December 29,2011.
Venue of the announcement: a JLP Mass meeting in Mandeville in the parish of Manchester.
Nomination Day (when candidates will officially submit their names as candidates for each of the 63 constituencies) will be on December 12.
Already, the election ads have started, but the PNP ads seem fewer in comparison to the JLP.
Interesting days are ahead!
So, should You Vote?
If you are a Jamaican, living in Jamaica, by all means yes!
I'm appealing to all our GWAP Blog friends in Jamaica, if you do have a vote, please exercise your right to do so.
Our forefathers fought, bled and died so that we could have a vote...please don't let their sacrifice go to waste.
Gillian
